Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, philanthropist and television host, and owner of The Huffington Post. After moving to England from Greece at the age of 16 She earned an MA in Economics at Cambridge University. Being the first non-English-speaking student, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. A conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she became an influential voice for the Huffington Post. The fame of Arianna led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna first gained notoriety in 2003 as she stood in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna led an initiative in Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient cars. Forbes listed her as one of the "most powerful female" in the media industry, placing her at 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most influential media people in 2009. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her the president of their media company and also included several additional AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was born to Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli the other, both of whom are journalist and management consultants. Although she had a close friendship with her mother and father but it was their connection that shaped her. Even as a young girl she displayed leadership qualities that she still is known for.
