Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. Her modeling career started in Italy, where she was raised before being was born in California. Her acting career started in 1996 when she starred in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Her fight to secure a part in Starship Troopers, a film that featured mostly minor roles, was extremely intense. Amy was unable to make the leap from modeling into acting because model actors aren't generally considered to be actors of any kind. They're often given small and unimportant parts. Amy had a determination to be successful and was eventually offered larger parts beginning with The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. After a while Amy stepped into more leading roles. The film she starred in was the 2005 romance film Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained the recognition she had been searching for for more than 10 years after her film called Just Friends came out. The actress continued to appear in important films like Crank alongside Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was loved as a regular part of the cast.
